The Activity on referral scheme enables your GP or practice nurse to refer you for a course of exercise or activity as part of the rehabilitation process following physical or mental illness.
The Towcester Centre for Leisure referral scheme consists a 12 week programme. All your exercise is logged and tracked by one of the qualified instructors.
You will be given close one to one advice and programming, a half way appointment to increase your programme. As part of your last session you will undergo a final assessment enabling you to see for yourself what you have achieved. Upon successful completion of the scheme you will be able to use make use of all the leisure activities available at Towcester for Leisure so you can continue your new healthy lifestyle.
You can choose to pay for each session individually or pay the full course fee in advance.
The first step is to visit your GP who will issue you with an exercise referral form. Following a successful referral from your GP, Practice Nurse or Physiotherapist/Consultant you will be asked to contact the Activity on Referral co-ordinator on 01327 322480 to arrange your initial appointment.
Your appointment will include a simple fitness assessment (please wear comfortable clothing and footwear in which to exercise). The results of this and the reasons for your referral will help us to create your 12 week personal fitness programme
