Towcester 25 Hours Football Festival To Raise Money For Lewis Wares

In our 25th year, Towcester Town Football Club in partnership with the South Northants Leisure Trust are organising a “25 Hour Football Festival” with the added aim to raise lots of money for Lewis Wares.

Lewis is eligible for an operation in America that could potentially get him out of his wheelchair and up on his feet.
The operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy has been proven to be very successful in helping children like him achieve their dream of walking unaided. This comes at a huge cost though and we are trying to raise £50,000 to enable Lewis to get there.

Speaking to AboutMyArea/NN12 Tony Pickford said, "We are looking to involve as many local clubs, associations and groups from our community to join together and participate in this event.

Festival Details

The event will be over 25 hours, starting at 9am on Saturday 16th March and going through to 10am on Sunday 17th March. This will take place outside on the 3G pitch at Towcester Centre for Leisure and from 10pm until 9am Sunday morning will move into the sports hall; the last hour will be played outside again on the 3G pitch.

Each group or association will commit to an hour time slot and will split into two teams (Red team and Blue team) to play each other. Please contact Tony to book your time slot.

Children and youth age groups will be asked to raise individual sponsorship whilst adults will be charged an entry fee – Please note, all money will go to the fund for Lewis and there are prizes for the person who raises the most money.

There will also be a refreshments and BBQ running during the event to keep all the players and supporters fuelled up.
